Not Guilty On All Counts for NYPD Officers Involved in Death of Sean Bell PDF Print E-mail

In Queens, New York the verdict on the case involving Sean Bell and undercover NYPD agents was in the hands of one judge as it was decided today that the police involved in the case were not guilty. The case was decided by a bench trial rather than a jury trial. Bell, who was at a New York strip club celebrating his Bachelor party at the time was reportedly shot over 50 times by the undercover agents. Allegedly, the agents who were in the club investigating unrelated drug problems claimed that Bell announced that he was going to his car to get a gun. This was later determined to be false. The judge has cited lack of evidence presented by the prosecution. The not guilty verdict will certainly have repercussions in and around New York City which have yet to be seen.
