For Florida Keys Residents, F.I.U. Becomes A Temporary Home |

You might think it's all margaritas and lost salt shakers over in Key West, Florida, but at times like these the downfalls of living on the southern most point of the United States becomes quite evident.
Monroe County began a mandatory evacuation of all its residents on Sunday, September 7th. The residents had the option of taking their own transportation or taking Monroe County school busses for the 4-hour ride up to Florida International University.
Students found the recreational center and gymnasium closed to accommodate Monroe County residents today.
Schools and government offices will remain closed in Monroe County as residents who have already evacuated are urged to stay away.
